Ahead of Schedule
Here we are, just 14 months away from our tea farm becoming reality, and it seems that we may be closer than we thought. Original plans were that cuttings were to be cut in June of 2013, but because of a mild winter in front of Winter Storm Draco, 10,000-15,000 cuttings could be taken and stuck. We may be a year ahead of schedule! Plants grow as they grow... we cannot stop them... So here are our beauties in a greenhouse... the first of many to be taken and shipped to Mississippi to become a new boom crop. We thank everyone involved... Carey Calhoun, Elbert Berry, Acy Dozer and Gravel, Nigel Melican, and Cam Too Camellia Nursery for our enjoyed success thus far! We also thank Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce, Cindy Hyde-Smith and Extension Agent, and Rebecca Bates for all of their efforts. We look forward to working with Rebecca Bates and the Mississippi State University Extension Service in the coming year for sustainable growing. Merry Christmas to all and a Happy Prosperous New Year!!!!
